The house of renowned Mexican architect Luis Barragán served as inspiration for the hotel’s furniture and materials.

The villa’s original high ceilings, wood beams, and chandelier set a colonial-era tone that acts as a strong thread throughout. Striped fabrics remind guests of the sea just outside, while Baja Club’s color palette is the same green and red common to Mexican earthenware, old metals and woods, and woven materials. The bathrooms are tiled in a manner inspired by the classic Mexican hacienda.

The 1910 mission-style villa at the heart of Baja Club is balanced by a new five-story extension with a spa and rooftop bar.

A massive double-door main entrance, with amber glazing and ornamental ironmongery, is a testament to colonial-era details, as are tall ironwork windows with ornamental grills. Red terrazzo floor tiles and skirting, massive timber beams, and a rough stucco façade highlight the villa’s character, while the L-shaped new build frames a central courtyard, creating a series of peaceful patios and gardens.
