Amid the pines and larch trees of Switzerland’s Valais canton, Chandolin Boutique Hotel is a holistic expression of Alpine luxury housed in an environmentally conscious, typically Swiss grand chalet that’s filled with bespoke furnishings and natural materials from the region. Surrounded by mountains and forests, the hotel features all the après-ski indulgences one could imagine. Le Restaurant, for example, serves seasonal specials from Switzerland and beyond made with ingredients sourced from the region—such as Val d’Hérens beef and freshly caught fish—in a fireside setting with a mountainscape backdrop, of course, while the hotel’s Wine Bar offers over 400 vintages under the instruction of talented sommelier Thomas Scheidt. At the foot of the slopes, the Sunset Chalet Bar is an ideal spot for a post-piste fondue, raclette, or cocktail, and the Moonclub lounge tempts guests after dark with handcrafted cocktails in a convivial setting. With downtime in mind, Chandolin Boutique Hotel also plays host to the Altitude Wellness spa and the Salon des étoiles, where complimentary hot drinks and impressive views of the surrounding mountains are on offer.

Never ones to give up on a dream, Jean-Marc and Charlotte Renaud Boutilly graduated from Strasbourg Hotel and Catering School and Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, respectively, and immediately started to make a name for themselves in the hospitality world—an industry that had beckoned them both from a young age. After working in different luxury hotels in the Swiss Riviera region, the couple made the bold decision to take over the reins at Chandolin Boutique Hotel, in the far-off village of Chandolin, Switzerland, with a clear idea of exactly the kind of bespoke experience they wanted to create for their guests. Chandolin Boutique Hotel was born and the couple hasn’t looked back since.
