ARCHITECTURE

Arassociati

This stand-out, stand-alone building immediately demands attention as a work of contemporary eco-friendly architecture, thanks to the vertical gardens that flank the cuboid structure’s expansive glass façade—which is made up of the floor-to-ceiling windows in every guestroom. A first in the city of Milan, the hotel also boasts an outdoor pool on the rooftop terrace that affords 360-degree views over the city, while interior architectural highlights include parquet wood floors and a Gio Ponti-inspired fireplace in the lobby. The ground-floor mixology food bar also leads out onto the street and square in front of the hotel, symbolising Viu’s integration into its locality.

Interior Design

A geometric tapestry

The interiors are marked by high-quality materials and a lack of visual pretension. While custom fabrics by Rubelli, furnishings by Molteni, and black-beige marble washbasins feature throughout, many of the bathrooms feature a sliding privacy wall made from walnut, durmast, and rosewood, creating a geometric tapestry of natural tones when illuminated by natural light that pours in from the floor-to-ceiling windows in every room.
