Architecture History comes alive

Palihotel Seattle Architecture

Architecture History comes alive

A landmarked 1900 building retains its historic bones, while a bold redesign brings Pacific Northwest references and Palisociety’s irreverent spirit into focus.

Built in 1900 as the Colonnade Hotel, the four-story property is now a designated Seattle city landmark. Its historic structure provides the framework for a spirited contemporary transformation, with deep moss-green tones, layered textiles, intricate details, and artwork that nod to the building’s past. In the lobby, 15-foot ceilings, bright skylights, and a fireplace create a dramatic yet welcoming gathering space, while a custom-made reception desk sets the tone from the moment you arrive.

Interior design Avi Brosh and the Palisociety design team

Eclectic interiors layer deep moss-green walls, mixed patterns, custom furnishings, and artwork over the building’s historic bones.

The interiors embrace a moodier side of the Pacific Northwest, with layered textiles, mixed patterns, and artwork throughout. In the guestrooms, bespoke furnishings pair with smart, practical touches, including SMEG mini fridges, rain showers, stocked minibars, and Diptyque bath products. Many rooms also frame views of Elliott Bay and downtown. The overall effect is playful yet polished, with accessible luxury replacing anything overly formal.

The Hart and The Hunter All-day Americana

This cheerful Americana diner puts an elevated spin on comfort-food classics, from butter biscuits and oysters to easygoing cocktails.

The Hart and The Hunter brings Palisociety’s Los Angeles-born diner concept to Seattle, with an all-day menu of familiar favorites given a thoughtful upgrade. Expect smoked corned beef hash, griddled sandwiches, savory and sweet waffles, local oysters, and the restaurant’s famed butter biscuits, followed by pie à la mode. Easygoing cocktails range from seasonal creations to classics done right, while the welcoming setting also lends itself to intimate celebrations and events.
