Design & Culture

Architecture Past perfect

Arrive Albuquerque Architecture (1)

Architecture Past perfect

Originally opened along historic Route 66, the property has been carefully revitalized to preserve its midcentury identity while introducing a more contemporary sensibility.

Historic features remain integral to the experience, complemented by vibrant regional influences, updated interiors, and works by local artists. The result is a thoughtful dialogue between Albuquerque’s architectural past and its evolving creative present. A particular highlight is a vibrant new mural by painter Nani Chacon.

Interior design Avi Brosh and the Palisociety design team

The interiors reinterpret Southwestern influences through a contemporary lens, combining desert-inspired tones with expressive colors, geometric forms, and vintage references.

Original architectural elements have been carefully preserved and paired with modern furnishings, creating spaces that feel both rooted in place and distinctly current. The lobby features two original ceiling domes accented by pendant lights, a red blaze quarry tile floor inset, and warm wood tones. Guestrooms showcase modern Southwestern-inspired details and bold floral upholstery. Public areas encourage gathering and conversation, while a rotating arts program introduces guests to the creative energy and cultural diversity of the region.
