The celebrated Architecture-Studio firm has used color and light at Form’s flagship hotel in Dubai to create an array of visual experiences and moods. The lobby and restaurant are intentionally set in large, open areas so as to connect the hotel’s public spaces to the city, while each guestroom has a unique view of Dubai and a light-influenced atmosphere defined by white plaster, light stone, and walnut wood that evolves throughout the day.

Every piece of furniture is custom made—envision black, powder-coated, aluminum-metal frame pieces with brushed brass knobs—and embraced effortlessly by such materials as marble counter tops and wood paneling. As the noted architecture and design firm Architecture-Studio says of its work at Form, “We designed a luxury space that aims to be more discreet and less showy.”

Sustainability Keeping an eye on our Conscious Hotel Principles
The hotel was designed as a tribute to the deconstructed dhow, which reflects the local Al Jaddaf neighborhood. Green spaces promote the protection of biodiversity, improve the air quality, and cool down built environments.
The hotel uses smart thermostat settings and sets the temperature as per the standard given by Dubai water and electricity authority regulations. It also monitors energy usage and carbon emissions.
High-efficiency fixtures are used in guestrooms. Push-button showers were installed by the pool to reduce waste. Water from air conditioning is reused to water the gardens.
As much as possible, the hotel sources products from its list of 100% local suppliers, each of which has a green certificate from the Dubai municipality.
The hotel hosts yoga and meditation events.
The hotel provides guests with metro and bus cards to encourage public transportation.
The hotel shares its sustainability mission, goals, and progress on its website and hosts events to increase awareness around the importance of building a more sustainable future.
