Architecture Ambrosi Etchegaray

Circulo Mexicano Architecture

Architecture Ambrosi Etchegaray

The hotel's traditional Vecindad layout was born in the early 20th century.

It stems from a time when it was common for elite housing to be converted into smaller dwellings for multiple families. The property is a reinterpretation of this traditional Mexican patio-centric house, with a central open space and rooftop pool and bar-restaurant serving as gathering spaces for the community and private patios leading to guestrooms.

Interior design Ambrosi Etchegaray

Doors and windows of ash wood set the scene for the nude color palette that characterizes the interior spaces.

Furnishings by local design firm La Metropolitana include a number of pieces inspired by the Shaker movement. Oaxacan textiles and weaved palm also feature throughout the property and reference local design heritage.
