Marrying the intimate, Old World feel of a grand manor house with the secluded and timeless sense of luxury that comes from its surrounding park, garden, and orchard, the nearly-100-year-old, newly restored Villa Arnica is both a village statement and an escape into nature. Set in Lana—a mountainous Italian town affectionately known as the Orchard of South Tyrol—this four-room, six-suite property is a place where local produce from the hotel’s garden makes its way to your table in the form of homemade jam and cakes, and where guests listen to music played on an old record player while having tea in a living-room-style lobby. Built in 1925, the structure was once a guesthouse that welcomed international artists and politicians. Today, it is a place of discovery—the renovation uncovered old stone and wooden floors hidden beneath carpets, revealing original terrazzo marble and a herringbone pattern that creates a feeling of permanence. From this classic setting, guests stroll the property through a pergola draped in kiwi and grape vines to the hotel’s traditional pool and pool house. In short, Villa Arnica is Lana at its most authentic.
