With over 20 acres of mountainside to explore, Scribner’s Catskill Lodge reflects its larger surroundings. Winter activities at nearby Hunter Mountain and Windham Mountain include downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and tubing. Fans of history and local culture will also celebrate the fact that in the summer of 1969, nearly half-a-million people gathered together in the Catskills at Woodstock for the pivotal event of the countercultural revolution.

Set on the side of a mountain with sweeping views, the lodge and its 23-acre site, less than a mile from Hunter Mountain, gleam with new splendor after thorough renovations under the direction of Brooklyn-based Post Company. The roofs of the new Round Suites present an oculus at the center to provide light and a view of the stars above.

Clean, contemporary, and slightly offbeat, the 49 unique rooms have dark maple floors, vintage rugs, custom-built furniture, and modern amenities. Most have large windows and private decks overlooking the Catskills, and some offer fireplaces and lofted sleeping spaces.
