Everything everywhere is custom-made, with furniture by Concreta, sofas and textiles by Quinti and Moroso e Pedrali, and wooden floors by Garbellotto setting the sophisticated tone.

Inspired by the building’s history, the designer has created an inviting world of ceramic, marble, wood, and vintage furniture, with a color palette of sage green, brick pink, and cobalt blue. The hotel lobby has been frescoed by Edoardo Piermattei, a young and promising painter who connects the city and the river to characterize the birthplace of Rome. The lounge area, meanwhile, is a world of designer armchairs, breccia marble, walnut wood, and burgundy velvet.

Architecture Luigi Moretti

Like a great sculptor, the architect has crafted curved walls that hint at the beauty lying just around the next corner.

Built in the 18th century beside S. Giorgio al Velabro church, Palazzo Velabro was converted to a residence in 1960 that Architect Luigi Moretti then transformed with an interior defined by dramatic curves and an outdoor area with a private terrace that recalls an ancient Roman court. Here, you can admire the Roman Forum and the Arch of Janus from a rare perspective.

Food & Drink Back to the heart

Apicio is formed around the idea that a restaurant can offer a culinary experience based upon memories, smells, and flavors dating back to childhood.

Italians will, indeed, recognize timeless tastes forged from the sun and sea and crafted into contemporary dishes informed by strong flavors and a special selection of ingredients. Guests from afar will experience a culinary trip through Italian history that makes for lasting memories.

Art & Culture Film and flair

Awash in walnut wood-paneling and dark burgundy walls, the hotel’s library and cinema present Italian culture in a warm and welcoming box.

Celebrating Italy’s rich cinematic history, the hotel’s private screening room is a totally immersive space for intimate gatherings. Its library, meanwhile, makes for the perfect literary retreat, with specially curated books and armchairs designed by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso.
