Interior design IMAGO
Sunlight floods spaces that are composed of warm stone, dark wood, and refined lines. A restrained palette evokes calm and clarity, offering a tranquil atmosphere that breathes in rhythm with the natural world. Guestrooms evoke the warmth of a Mosuo grandmother's house while echoing the romance of a Mosuo maidens’ flower chambers. Colored glass screens, carpets, and throw pillows are inspired by the hues of Mosuo women’s costumes. Jade-colored bathtubs and custom ceramic tiles echo the color of Lugu Lake water. Sacred pillars on doors are crafted from reclaimed beams, while window lattice patterns create soft light projections onto headboards.
Architecture IMAGO
Designed using traditional rammed earth craftsmanship, the hotel exhibits rich textural effects under the ever-changing light and shadow of Lugu Lake. The structure’s cascading look ensures that every room has a balcony, which serves as a panoramic viewfinder to the sacred mountain and lake, fully immersing guests in nature. This dialogue between architecture, landscape, and people means that one not only sees the heavens and earth but also one’s inner self, with the lake as an active observer. The hotel’s fifth-floor rooftop consists of an infinity pool and a small square where people gather to dance. Here, sky, water, and lake blend with human activities, reflecting each other seamlessly.
