The hotel revitalizes historic architecture and serves as an urban living room for cultural display and exchange.

The renovated century-old German historic building has an exclusive viewing terrace facing Zhanqiao Pier and the sea, presenting unobstructed views of red-tiled roofs, trees, and the ocean. Indeed, its glass encased rooftop offers dreamy panoramas and houses a destination restaurant and bar. The architects faithfully restored original facades, beams, and character while optimizing circulation, daylight, and modern functionality, balancing heritage with contemporary expectations. German brick craftsmanship, traditional mortise and tenon joinery, hand-plastering, and handmade customization by local artisans are on full display.

A harmonious fusion of Eastern wabi-sabi and German retro-design underlines a spatial narrative centered on the theme of time.

Minimalist, quiet, uncluttered, and accented with German retro details, the hotel’s design uses muted tones and natural materials to create a relaxed, tranquil, and refined retreat. Public spaces feature city-themed exhibitions, while guestrooms incorporate local smoke-painting and straw-weaving art installations, stressing regional context. Local Qingdao Laoshan stone, aged elm, old boat wood, art terracotta brick, bronze stainless steel, and bamboo charcoal wood are just some of the ecofriendly materials on display.
