Palm Springs is a resort city in California, at the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains in the Coachella Valley. While it’s currently a hip destination among the international jet set crowd, Palm Springs was previously a holiday hotspot for Hollywood stars—due to working contracts that said that certain actors and actresses couldn’t be more than three hours away from Los Angeles—and the famous Rat Pack in the 1950s and 1960s. As well as such attractions as the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, the Palm Springs Air Museum, and the Palm Springs Art Museum, the city plays host to the Tahquitz Canyon and Indian canyons, and a number of famous Palm Springs golf resorts. The resort also boasts a lively restaurant and bar scene, promising beguiling nightlife after the sun sets over the San Jacinto Mountains.
