      Rooms & suites

It wouldn’t feel like Soho if the Crosby Street in New York didn’t have loft style rooms and suites. The 86 spacious, individually designed bedrooms and suites span over 11 floors, featuring floor-to-ceiling warehouse style windows. British designer and owner Kit Kemp’s refreshingly modern British style lends an unbeatable charm to the rooms with custom designed fabrics and original artwork. The Meadow Suite, as the name suggests, has its own private garden terrace featuring American native plants. The suites all come with luxuries such as in-suite check-in, unpacking and packing service, bespoke mini bar and welcome gift, and shoeshine service. Of all the hotel’s suites, it’s the Crosby Suites, which occupy the 9th, 10th and 11th floors, that offer the most stunning and unforgettable views of the Big Apple.

From parking lot to iconic Soho loft look

In keeping with the neighborhood’s industrial history, the hotel facade has been kept minimalist. The exterior of brick, stone and glass pays homage to the surrounding urban landscape, while the floor-to-ceiling warehouse windows are an obvious nod to the iconic SoHo loft look. Sustainable materials and energy-efficient technology round out the package—green luxury at its best. In fact, the Crosby Street Hotel is one of the most environmentally responsible hotels in the entire United States, well poised to receive Gold LEEDS (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification by the US Green Building Council.

The Perfect Balance Between Classicism and Modernity

Unusual pieces of original art spark Kit Kemp’s design process. No surprise, then, that the centerpiece of the Crosby Street Hotel lobby is a stunning work by Scottish paper cutout artist Jack Milroy. But don’t expect a transatlantic transport of Kemp’s original English style; the Crosby Street Hotel achieves an American flair without abandoning its British roots via Kemp’s collaborations with local designers and artisans.

      Kit Kemp

Together with her partner Tim Kemp, award-winning designer Kit Kemp stands at the helm of nine hotels. This quirky design guru’s aesthetic reflects a fresh, modern take on English style. Mixing eras with state-of-the-art technology, the self-taught designer follows no rules but her own, creating a signature style that strikes the perfect balance between classicism and modernity. Kemp’s pioneering work earned her the Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year in 2008, and her hotel group Firmdale Hotels received the Queens Award for Enterprise in 2000, 2006 and in 2009.
