      About Your Stay

André Balazs’ third link in his Standard collection sits on the aptly named Belle Isle, a lush residential island in South Beach, Miami’s Biscayne Bay. It opened in 2006 in a building originally constructed in 1957 to house The Lido Spa. Balazs transformed the antiquated property, maintaining allusions to its origins—the wholesome, organic restaurant is referentially called Lido. The hotel’s general aesthetic scheme is something of a juxtaposition of the authenticity of an old world European bathhouse and the sleek, coolness of Scandinavian design. Its 105 guestrooms are graced with a minimalist feel and cool slate-colored walls, lending an air of calm and refinement. After a long day of yoga, lounging by the pool, swimming laps, being pampered at the full-service spa, or sitting in the hamam, guests can enjoy the best in health-conscious, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and biodynamic wines.

      Gateway to Cool

The Standard Spa, Miami Beach is a serene composition of smooth sandy tones and crisp shades of turquoise mirroring the water that surrounds it. It boasts a gorgeous set of 105 guestrooms and suites that start with “Standard” and span through Medium, Large, or X-Large versions of the Standard, Garden, and Bath Terrace styles, finally finishing with the Bay View Suite. This last and most luxurious option denotes a 52sqm loft-style suite that offers stunning views of the surrounding city, as well as peak amenities such as a 15sqm private outdoor terrace.

The lobby lounge—plated in rich tones, from the blue denim of the variable sofa to the red of its neighboring seating area—subtly gestures to the building’s 1957 roots with features such as hanging circular lamps, marble walls, terrazzo floors, and vintage Danish furniture.

André Balazs is always keen to pay homage to those moments in Modernism that have helped shape his contemporary aesthetic practice—even in the spa, where bright colors and industrial-style touches meet Scandinavian minimalism and the ambient sounds of the forest.
