Celebrating London’s multiculturalism and its status as a world culinary capital, Nobu Hotel Shoreditch is an extension of the renowned hotel and restaurant portfolio headed by Tokyo-trained celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa and actor and director Robert De Niro. Needless to say, the hotel’s culinary program steals the show here—a show that includes a design homage to Shoreditch’s industrial heritage, augmented by Japanese artistry: Chef Nobu’s signature Japanese-Peruvian dishes pull in star-studded crowds at the eponymous restaurant and bar—which also includes a chef’s table, a sushi counter, and an outdoor courtyard—while a fireside Lobby Lounge & Bar offers small bites and handcrafted cocktails in a more casual setting. Hidden behind a striking façade of glass, concrete, and cantilevered steel beams on Shoreditch’s Willow Street, Nobu Hotel Shoreditch offers private dining and event spaces for up to 200 and 148 guestrooms featuring such in-room treats as custom-made yukata robes and traditional Japanese tea sets.

Nobu Matsuhisa & Robert De Niro

Celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa was perfecting his signature Japanese-Peruvian fusion dishes at his Beverly Hills sushi bar in the late 1980s when Robert De Niro walked through the door. After four years of refusing the Hollywood star’s offer to open a fine dining restaurant in New York, Matsuhisa touched down in Tribeca and set out to indelibly shape the city’s restaurant scene.
