Charlotte Street Hotel’s fresh, welcoming interiors cultivate the charm of its surrounding neighborhood. Located just north of lively, hedonistic Soho, the quiet streets around the hotel exude unpretentious sophistication. A sensual Botero sculpture welcomes visitors, luring guests into Kit Kemp’s world of modern English style that combines original artwork, bespoke furnishings, and bold-patterned fabrics. The Oscar Restaurant and Bar spills outdoors onto the street during summer months, attracting local media professionals to relax and unwind over British cuisine and cocktails. Business travelers' professional needs are satisfied in a state-of-the-art private screening room, fully equipped with the latest modern conveniences. Such compelling contrasts between postmodern practicality and old-fashioned allure are embodied by the Alexander Hollweg tableau commissioned for the bar and restaurant, which updates Roger Fry's 1916 fresco 'Scenes of Contemporary London Life' with a treasure trove of scenes from today.

      Local Legacy

Once you cross the ornately-molded threshold of this converted warehouse, you’ll enter into an enticing world that draws upon the creative legacy of one of the most influential early 20th century associations of English writers, artists, and intellectuals—The Bloomsbury Group that drew its name from the neighborhood Charlotte Street Hotel calls home. Star designer Kit Kemp has reinvented the Bloomsbury aesthetic for the 21st century. Once a pharmacy, the building now teems with light, airy spaces punctuated by period details like wooden paneling, molding, and tall windows that elegantly frame the views across the London rooftops outside.

      Quirky English Spaces

A Bloomsbury period painting, a piece of hand-made furniture, or even a dressmakers’ doll might be the eye-catching centerpiece of any given guestroom at Charlotte Street Hotel. Sumptuously patterned fabrics dominate the décor, such as those used to cover the tall, padded headboards. Kemp even came up with an exclusive wallpaper print using details taken from an 18th century Hogarth Press woodcut.

      Rooms & Suites

Each of the 52 bedrooms and suites at Charlotte Street Hotel in this media-central neighborhood just north of Soho, features a creative spirit worthy of its location. The Superior- and Standard Loft Suites are designed over two luxurious floors with a bedroom upstairs and the drawing room at entry level, making it perfect for entertaining. The ample One Bedroom and Penthouse suites come with oversized bathrooms, his and her basins, large bathtubs, and separate walk-in showers. A bottle of Champagne on arrival and a Miller Harris gift box are just some of the perks that will make your stay at a Charlotte Street Hotel suite even sweeter.
