      About your stay

Originally designed by the same dynasty of architects that created some of Istanbul's finest Ottoman landmarks, this 26- room palatial retreat combines interiors by local design group Autoban with vitalizing views over the Bosphorus, the strait separating Europe from Asia. Autoban's signature touches ignite the lounge and complement its custom-designed fireplace. A fitness area and meeting space can be found in the same part of the building. The top floor is given over to three panoramic penthouse suites with names inspired by legendary architects. From the terrace, which wraps around the hotel's outer edge, guests can see Europe, Asia, and the cobblestone lanes of Ortaköy. A personal shopper and expert guides from Locally Istanbul are on hand to help visitors discover local trends in the worlds of art, cuisine, and fashion.

      An Ottoman Landmark

There aren’t many buildings that would look impressive alongside the grand minarets of Ortaköy Mosque. But the Simon Kalfa Building, one of the mosque’s closest neighbors, manages to positively sparkle. This Ottoman mansion near the Bosphorus was beginning to show its age, but has now been spectacularly restored by the design team at Turkish studio Autoban – marrying classical shapes with brand-new, custom furnishings, and shaking up the local hotel scene in the process.

The grandly spacious Deluxe Suites feature a private balcony with a partial Bosphorus view and a separate living room. Lavish details include a modern Autoban chandelier, high ceilings, decorative moldings, and a glass-walled bathroom with a privacy blind. In the lounge, specially designed chandeliers and lights hidden inside shelves help to illuminate the scene at night.

      Interior Design

      Autoban

Autoban’s favorite materials, including oak, brass, marble and walnut, pop up frequently in public spaces. And there are neatly beveled moldings framing walls in the bedrooms, meeting room and lounge. But Seyhan Özdemir and Sefer Caglar, the people driving Autoban since 2003, also chose fixtures and fittings to complement the building’s historic glamour.

      Canan Özdemir and Ferit Baltacioglu

It was the runaway success of their café brand – The House Café – that inspired Canan Özdemir and Ferit Baltacioglu to enter the hotel business. Since the niche-carving House Hotel Galatasaray launched in April 2010, the business partners have gone on to open two more hotels: The House Hotel Ni?anta?? and The House Hotel Bosphorus. All three have outstanding city-center locations. Although Canan’s background is in auditing and Ferit’s is in mechanical engineering, they found a shared love in launching new cafés in exciting places. In addition to the three hotels, Canan and Ferit now operate 12 cafés across Istanbul, plus franchised cafés in Antalya and Ankara.
