Rooms 26 /Architecture Autoban /Interior Design Autoban /The Original Ferit Baltacioglu, Canan Özdemir

Originally designed by the same dynasty of architects that created some of Istanbul's finest Ottoman landmarks, this 26- room palatial retreat combines interiors by local design group Autoban with vitalizing views over the Bosphorus, the strait separating Europe from Asia. Autoban's signature touches ignite the lounge and complement its custom-designed fireplace. A fitness area and meeting space can be found in the same part of the building. The top floor is given over to three panoramic penthouse suites with names inspired by legendary architects. From the terrace, which wraps around the hotel's outer edge, guests can see Europe, Asia, and the cobblestone lanes of Ortaköy. A personal shopper and expert guides from Locally Istanbul are on hand to help visitors discover local trends in the worlds of art, cuisine, and fashion.

    Rooms & Suites

The hotel covers more than 1,000 square meters (10,000 square feet) and is spread across five floors. Guestrooms take up the intermediary levels, while the top floor—wrapped by a terrace overlooking the Bosphorus—is given over completely to the hotel’s three penthouse suites. Each has a name inspired by the Balyan family (a famous dynasty of Ottoman imperial architects) and the interiors feature golden drapes and 3D-effect wooden floors. The largest suite, Penthouse Bosphorus, has its own living area with high, sloping ceilings.

    Canan Özdemir and Ferit Baltacioglu

It was the runaway success of their café brand – The House Café – that inspired Canan Özdemir and Ferit Baltacioglu to enter the hotel business. Since the niche-carving House Hotel Galatasaray launched in April 2010, the business partners have gone on to open more hotels—all with outstanding city-center locations. Although Canan’s background is in auditing and Ferit’s is in mechanical engineering, they found a shared love in launching new cafés in exciting places. In addition to the hotels, Canan and Ferit now operate 12 cafés across Istanbul, plus franchised cafés in in Baku, Izmir, Antalya, and Ankara.
