At the center of Stockholm, Nordic Light Hotel separates itself from the crowd right from the lobby. The recently renovated hotel has a new addition to the "Living Room" lobby—The Crooked Leg, a restaurant and bar where good food and company ranks far above any frills. Because Stockholm gets little more than five hours of light during winter days, Kai Piippo’s lighting aesthetically lift moods and creates an aura of experience in the lobby. A new lighting theme has also been introduced to each of the 175 rooms—Nordic White Light, defined by the color of fresh milk and snow. Located in the center of Stockholm and easily accessed by the adjacent Arlanda Airport rail link and Grand Central station, the hotel is attractive not only to the business community thanks to it unique Light Meeting rooms, but also to the weekend visitor keen to experience life in the cosmopolitan capital for themselves.

    Rooms & Suites

The 175 rooms and suites of the Nordic Light Hotel, right next to the Stockholm’s main station are as central as it gets in the city. Outfitted in the neutral Scandinavian palette of greys, whites, and blond woods, the décor is also splashed with red and blue to give the rooms an uplifting zest. This inspirationally designed hotel has rooms to suit all demands—be it standard, mood superior, or mood suite—and come equipped with the essentials; quality beds, maximum soundproofing, and free WiFi. To combat the lack of winter light in this Scandinavian capital, the Mood Rooms lighting and feel can be adjusted for color and intensity to suit one's mood. To help start the day right, breakfast is always included!

    ARCHITECTURE

    Rolf Löfvenberg

Architect Rolf Löfvenberg and interior designers Lars Pihl and Jan Söder transformed the 1970s building into a modern design statement. In keeping with the exterior, black and white dominate the color scheme of the sober cubist furnishings, while classical touches play off Sweden's atmospheric seasonal sunlight.

These special effects add a remarkably pure, simple and transparent color-theme to the solid elements of the interior design, which includes light wood floors, furniture in whites, greys and blacks, and quality Swedish Hästens beds.

    INTERIOR DESIGN

    Mood changing colors

The lobby serves as a tapestry for lighting architect Kai Piippo, from the stalactite lights hanging from the ceiling, to the ever-changing patterns of blue, orange and pink splashed onto the walls.
