Hotel J Video Teaser - Design Hotels

On the water's edge at Nacka Strand, Hotel J is a short drive or a 15-minute sail away from Stockholm's city center, but blends the nautical intimacy of New England. The evocative red, white, and blue of the stars and stripes invite visitors from across the Atlantic to feel completely at home. But guests from anywhere will appreciate the cozy feel of whitewashed wood, cotton textiles, and solid oak furniture. In the lobby, fireside seats afford wide-angle views of the islands near Stockholm.

The 158 rooms and suites range from 22 to 40 square meters, and many feature a king-size bed, balcony or terrace, with natural wood abounding in an airy, well-lit atmosphere. The hotel’s location on the Nacka Strand waterfront has inspired its designers to reflect on the yachting paradise of Newport, Rhode Island, with nautical color schemes and many accommodations affording views of Stockholm’s harbor.
