      About your stay

Built between the 16th and 18th centuries, this traditional Andalusian agrarian estate, now in the historical heart of Cordoba, has been meticulously restored and finely balanced with contemporary design. Guests move among original detailing such as wrought-iron railings, cool terracotta tiles, Moorish embellishments, and a lavishly painted ceiling—all artfully enhanced with understated modern touches. Rich fabrics and textures in champagne and copper are offset by dark walnut and light polished marble floors throughout. The estate is composed of several buildings arranged around a mosaic of five patios. In the spectacular main patio, traditional paving has been replaced with a dramatic glass floor to reveal Roman ruins just below. The restored frescoes further reflect a care for cultural detail, while slabs of black local stone lure guests to the lush, flowery gardens—the perfect place to linger over a drink, a book, or a loved one.

      The Heart of Cordoba

The estate is composed of multiple buildings and patios. The main patio is the most spectacular as the traditional paving has been replaced with a glass floor, revealing a dramatic perspective on the Roman ruins buried four-and-a-half meters below. Restoring paintings and frescos from the 19th century is a further example of the care and attention given to the revitalization of past beauty at the Hospes Palacio del Bailío. The clean pure lines, the sense of history and luxury all reflect the peace and quiet you will enjoy at this Andalusian getaway.

Dark walnut wood, rich stone arches, and floor-to-ceilings windows that let the Andalusian sun frame everything in a perfect light are just some of the attentive design details the Hospes folks perfected while keeping the demands of both historians and guests firmly in mind.

      Interior Design

      Past, Present, Perfect

The extravagantly painted ceiling at Hospes Palacio del Bailío is not only a centerpiece of conversation, it’s a testament to the painstaking level of historical detail the designers went to in order to recreate the past while contrasting it with fresh, contemporary, and comfortable designs of today.
