Architecture Carlos Ayala
As with the structure itself, the furniture at Aurea was crafted with sustainability in mind. Here, steel and framing materials were fashioned out of leftovers from the construction process. Locally sourced laurel defines many ceilings and doorways. Custom-designed colonial tiles give the walls definition, while bathrooms artfully boast double sinks, rain showers, wide mirrors, and wood ceilings.
Interior design Rutciel Cabrera
With sustainability and minimal impact at the heart of every decision, architect Carlos Ayala combined reinforced concrete with white and gray stucco surfaces and pine to masterful effect. Aluminum frames wide glass enclosures that connect interior spaces with the natural environment. Perforated block perimeter walls allow the air to flow, while rooftops let guests contemplate the flora and fauna.
Wellbeing Waves and drives
With year-round offshore winds and sunny weather, the Emerald Coast has been attracting surfers for years. A pioneer in Nicaragua’s golf push, Hacienda Iguana Golf & Beach Resort is built to impress. Aurea offers perfect sunset horseback rides for all levels. And for a truly local experience, be sure to visit a farm, walk through the jungle, and learn how to make tortillas and Hibiscus flower juice.
Wellbeing Nurture in nature
Enjoy one-on-one yoga sessions under the shade of trees, a selection of relaxing massages with highly skilled therapists, and private fitness training with personal instructors. Additional spa treatments can be arranged at a neighborhood satori wellness center, while group sports and workout activities can be set up with a local bootcamp gym called “the body shop”.
