      About your stay

Tucked between historic facades on a tree-lined road in Mexico City's stylish Condesa neighborhood, the hotel fuses the spirit of its bohemian surroundings with a playfully simple design aesthetic. Housed in a 1928 building, the CONDESA df is filled from head to toe with custom furniture designed by Parisian designer India Mahdavi, stone tiles, and an abundance of local color. The feel is modern yet warm, hip but not haughty. The 40 rooms and suites were inspired by the tranquility of monastic bedrooms—but without a lack of amenities, of course. The result is calming, airy spaces, some of which open onto wooden terraces, while, an overarching floral theme—visible on everything from cushion covers to chopstick wrappers—serves to enhance the relaxed, warm-weather vibe.

Everything revolves around the central Patio where rows of white shutters create geometric patterns across three floors leading to open sky. The room walkways face this central area where guests play a game of visual hide and seek by passing along the many shutters.

India Mahdavi centers her work on pure imagination. The spaces she conceives are elegant, fluid, and always tell a story. ‘Here, I wanted to introduce the feel of Europe to Mexicans and the feel of Mexico to foreigners in a way that can grow in synergy with the neighborhood—a place that is much more than just a hotel.’

      Carlos Couturier & Moises Micha

For Carlos Couturier and Moises Micha, building hotels that reflect their surroundings is more than just a job—it’s a passion that drove these two Mexican entrepreneurs from citrus farming and investment banking to boutique hospitality. “Even if we’re successful at something, we don’t repeat it,” Couturier says. “We like this sense of passion and audacity.” Their Grupo Habita collection has grown to include very diverse properties. Ambitious, fun-loving and well-traveled, the dynamic duo was awarded ‘Team of the Year 2011’ by FIZZZ Magazine.
