Architecture

Zeno Bampi

Architect Zeno Bampi retained the structure’s traditional features whenever and wherever possible, including the renovation of an ancient tile stove; yet he still managed to incorporate an elevator into the ancient building. Though the house stood empty for nearly a decade, local visionary and soon-to-be hotelier Klaus Dissertori would pass it daily, envisioning its potential. Today, that potential has been fully realized with both a respectful eye to the past and the needs of the contemporary traveler.

Interior Design

Christina Biasi-von Berg

Designer Christina Biasi-von Berg exposed plaster on some walls to show guests the spirit of past times. History also comes alive in updated furniture found in the structure, such as bedside tables and lamps in guestrooms and a reupholstered sofa in the common area. Antique-market finds include 1950s and 1960s pieces, while a photograph by Jasmine Deporta gives personal flair to each room.
