      About your stay

Despite its super-modern façade, or perhaps thanks to it, the Parc Hotel Billia looks like a page out of an historic book. The book in this case is a town called Saint-Vincent, an ancient settlement (with archaeological findings from pre-Roman times) in a natural basin in northwestern Italy, surrounded by the highest peaks in Europe—The Matterhorn, Mont Rose, Mont Blanc and The Gran Paradiso. And the story, thanks to starchitect Piero Lissoni’s signature minimalist style, is one told with local wood and stone that blends seamlessly into the surroundings. The hotel’s facilities have now become integral parts of the new Saint-Vincent Resort & Casino, one of Europe’s largest leisure centers, enhanced by a reconstructed spa that offers traditional cures alongside modern wellness treatments. The excellence of the local wine, the sweet flavor of Fontina cheese, and the subtle softness of Lardo d’Arnad enjoyed over views of an age-old park are all extra reasons to delve into the spirit of the Parc Hotel Billia.

      ARCHITECTURE

      Piero Lissoni

A master of sensitive restorations, Piero Lissoni has done it again with the Parc Hotel Billia. Utilizing skills that touch on a wide range of creative arenas—brilliant contemporary furniture and cutting edge graphics, as well as full-scale interiors and architecture—Lissoni took to the Parc Billia at the top of his game. His reinterpretation of the traditional mountain architecture of the Aosta Valley using building materials of wood and stone is, at once, easy on the eyes and surprising, thanks to its contemporary façade. Always faithful to his minimalist style, Lissoni has united the use of typical materials of the territory with the most modern of technologies to comply with the new needs of today’s guests.

The lounge area features signature Lissoni touches—be it the smartly placed skylight to let in lots of natural light or the neutral palette that does not take away from the stunning views outside.

      Chalet a la moderne

Conceived as a modern chalet, the hotel offers up interiors that marry the traditional with the contemporary in a laconic way. Hence gilded frames on the wall are juxtaposed with minimal pieces of stunning furniture.

      Luca Frigerio and Piero Lissoni

A proud local, Luca Frigerio has sought to retain the unique charm of the magical, unpolluted natural world of Aosta Valley. The director of Casino de la Vallee, the company behind the colossal Saint-Vincent Resort & Casino project (two hotels, a casino, wellness center, restaurants, and bars), Frigerio is a well-known figure in the casino scene. And yet, despite this connection to a fast-paced glitter-filled world, when he decided to add a new addition—the Parc Hotel Billia—to the historic Grand Hotel Billia, he knew that maintaining tradition was critical. Thus, his decision to use architect Piero Lissoni enabled him to marry the use of age-old building materials with the demands for luxury of today’s guest.  “Wood and stone have always been typical of the architecture of these places and today technology allows us to use traditional materials, maintaining their appeal, but also guaranteeing performance that meets the most modern of needs,” says Lissoni.
