A pristine, white, four-story building in the center of the city's business district, The Park Bangalore is a leader in its genre. Thanks to the forward-thinking vision of Priya Paul, CEO of The Park Hotels India, this was the first property on the sub-continent to grasp the potential of India's lifestyle culture and exploding wealth. Each of the hotel's 109 rooms reflects Indian ethnicity and international influence, as interpreted by renowned design company, Conran & Partners. The hotel is an urban retreat in the capital of India's high-tech industry, offering a sensuous design experience. Lifts are decked out in rich black leather. Aqua tones dominate the first floor. Lime is prevalent in the next two, and emperor red beyond, evoking an abstract jungle feel. The top floor is the most luxurious section of the building, where silk, leather, and wood add an extra measure of Eastern opulence.

Each of The Park Bangalore’s four floors showcases a unique design and color scheme. Aqua tones, interspersed with splashes of orange, dominate the first floor. Lime is the prevalent color on the next two stories, evoking an abstract, jungle-like feel highlighted by burnt amber orange and deep purple. The top floor of the hotel, known simply as The Residence, offers guestrooms filled with luxurious silks, leathers, and woods, creating a relaxing setting removed from the action of downtown Bangalore. Conran & Partners have successfully fused modern European chic with toned-down Indian design characteristics to create an abundance of style.

    Conran & Partners

Architects Conran & Partners of London took a four-story former low-budget hotel in the heart of Bangalore’s business district and turned it into one of India’s foremost design hotels. Despite looking pristine and basic in white on the outside, The Park Bangalore reflects a transcontinental internationalism without forgetting its ethnic Indian roots. A spacious lobby with a glass façade welcomes guests into the hotel. There, as in the rest of the hotel, the design team, surrounding the British design icon Sir Terence Conran, has balanced modern polished marble floors with local highlights, such as an impressive black Indian column that immediately catches the eye. Conran & Partners have successfully fused modern European chic with toned-down Indian design characteristics creating an abundance of style.

A geometrically intriguing four-poster bed and casual balcony furniture that mirrors the room’s interior color scheme set the stage for a sumptuous venue in which to relax, away from the action of downtown Bangalore.

In common areas, such as at one of the hotel’s three inviting restaurants, a flock of fluttering butterflies, interspersed with splashes of burnt amber orange and warm textures, evoke a jungle-like feel.
