The old Germania Brewery in Münster has found a second life as the Factory Hotel, a surprising and successful combination of old and new that fuses urban buzz with quiet serenity. The landmarked brewery building at the complex's center, brought to life by David Deilmann, looks out over a relaxing lake and is surrounded by a lively combination of shops, restaurants, and clubs. The modern wing, created by David’s architect father Andreas Deilmann and which houses 128 rooms and 16 luxury suites designed with elements such as wood, concrete, and felt, reflects the site's industrial origins while fostering a comfy sophistication. Guests can get some personal training or simply relax at the amazing and expansive 3,500-square-meter fitness center. Things heat up at night with dancing till dawn in the brewery basement nightclub, Grey, which has won a great reputation in town as an electro and house venue.

With the hotel’s “old” bones running through the Factory like a thread, the “new,” in the form of dark-wood tones, sleek high-concept furniture, and endless comfort, lend the space a magnificent purity rich in contrast.
