The structure was carefully placed not only to maximize its stunning lake views, but with the rising and setting sun squarely in mind. The result for the guest is an intense connection with the forest and the lake.

Graft Gesellschaft von Architekten

The hotel’s slatted wooden façade uses larch that has been charred to give the three-story building a silvery-black shine, making it appear as it if it were a natural part of the surrounding topography.

Interior Design

Birgit Nicolay

Taking full advantage of the natural light that bathes the hotel, interior designer Birgit Nicolay created a look that brings the feel of the forest and lake inside, as evidenced by wooden bathtubs and forest showers.

Here, wallpaper with designs featuring Celtic knots, braided materials in lamps, and an abundance of light wood are augmented by panoramic views and clear lines. And throughout, bright natural materials and colors dominate.
