With peaks reaching a formidable 5,000 metres, the dramatic Caucasus Mountain Range delivers a spectacular backdrop for this retreat – the first of its kind – in northern Georgia. Comprising 155 guestrooms – each with breathtaking vistas – the warm structure of wood, glass and steel has been designed by young Tbilisi-based duo Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia. A restaurant serving traditional Georgian fare interspersed with a host of international dishes is accompanied by a cozy bar with its own fireplace and cigar menu. Meanwhile a sweeping sun terrace provides a place to relax and soak in the rugged surroundings. Other facilities comprise a spacious lobby lounge, library, casino and indoor swimming pool, also with spectacular views of the mountains. For the more adventurous, a range of outdoor activities from quad-bike tours to heliskiing is on offer, while culture enthusiasts can explore the nearby landmark Gergeti Trinity Church.

Forward-thinking entrepreneur Temur Ugulava is forging a new future for hospitality in Georgia. With a unique, avant-garde approach to design—combining traditional with a contemporary—each property by the Adjara Group is a proud showcase of a new Georgia. With his first, wildly successful Rooms Hotel Kazbegi still luring guests to the Caucasus Mountain range, Ugulava now has two properties in Tbilisi—Rooms Hotel Tbilisi and Stamba Hotel—that are a focal point for a new wave of thinkers, artists, and designers who are slowly reclaiming the capital’s Vera district as a local cultural hub for the 21st century.
