      About your stay

At Domaine des Andéols, located just one hour from Avignon, clean lines, bold geometric spaces, and an evocative art collection reframe Provence. Its owners, Olivier and Patricia Massart, spent the last 20 years collecting paintings, photographs, furniture, and objects, and then set out to create a place where they could share it all with artists, designers, friends, and guests from around the world. Today, Domaine des Andéols is home to more than 250 of their pieces, and each of the property’s 10 villas is inspired by an artwork, color, or theme. Outside, the sharp horizon of a turquoise pool and of sculptures that play with scale push the eye to see the landscape from a fresh perspective, while inside, the exquisite cuisine of the restaurant, “La Maison des Saveurs,” thanks to a bounteous Provencal garden, is the talk of the Luberon.

      New Perspectives

At Domaine des Andéols, the organic shapes and colors that define the Provencal landscape take on new meaning in juxtaposition to its pure lines, bespoke spaces, and very personal collection of art and furniture. Each of its 10 villas has its own unique character—from Maison Toujours, which embraces a delicate palette of pale pastels and art that celebrates the female figure, to Maison Amoureux’s concrete grey walls, which provide the perfect background for Bertoia’s bright red 1952 Diamond chairs. Outside, oversize daybeds hide from the sun under triangles of stretched white canvas. Down the hill, a landmark tree is experienced from multiple perspectives: immense from below, but enveloping from within—where guests are invited to dine seven meters above ground in Domaine des Andéols’ tree house. Later in the evening, the carefully delineated angles of an illuminated indoor pool play against the endlessness of a starry night sky.

      Made by Originals

      Olivier & Patricia Massart

In 2003, Olivier Massart and his wife Patricia transformed 59 acres and 10 stone farm buildings into a vivacious collection of villas. Surrounded by olive groves and lavender fields in the heart of the Luberon region, Domaine des Andéols is a fulfillment of the two designers’ long-standing dream to create a property reminiscent of the stone cabins their grandfathers used to build. The Massarts also turned the property into a living museum, housing some 250 paintings, photographs, furniture and objects of art they have collected over the years. It’s easy to see why some might call the Massarts the design ambassadors of the Provencal landscape.
