In a nutshell

A true connector with a global mindset, you will be the lead for Design Hotels to select, evaluate, and manage partnerships on behalf of the brand.  Must ensure that both brand and partner objectives align and collaboration is a success with results.  You are an excellent communicator and negotiator, who finds unexpected ways to bring synergies between parties that meet mutual objectives. A natural match maker with a passion for culture, travel, and lifestyle brands with an agile mindset. This newly created role requires a self-starter who can navigate easily across stakeholders within the company. A critical thinker with the ability to lead partner relationships while engaging stakeholders at the right times and simultaneously managing the contract process.


Tasks & Responsibilities


  • Lead the Partnerships strategy for Design Hotels globally to develop best-in-class partnerships for internal and external stakeholders
  • Understand the core value proposition of our unique brand, develop ideas that will bring partners of the same mindset
  • Passionate understanding of the latest global trends impacting travel, hotel, food, art, design, sustainability, fashion to inform evaluation of opportunities and ideas
  • Lead partnerships with passion and innovation to ensure Design Hotels continues to be considered the travel industry’s most forward-thinking brand developing ideas that push boundaries
  • Brand Guardian: as part of the global brand team,  assist continent leads to create partnerships that extend from global partnership strategy
  • Work hand-in-hand with Regional Directors to ensure both local cultural and commercial relevance 
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance & review of relevant partner contracts, agreements and obligations in partnership with stakeholders including legal, finance in compliance with company policy (including established partner approval and governance structures) and local laws

Creative Concept Development

  • Work in close collaboration with extended brand team to create concepts that meet and exceed brand objectives

Commercial Business

  • Manage commercial business needs to bring creativity to each initiative yet meet business objectives
  • Retain partners who contribute financially to meet revenue goals related to specific initiatives
  • Comfortable with commercial planning and budgeting
  • Find smarter ways to utilize partnerships budgets for greater impact and negotiating preferential agreements to save on cost and deliver greater topline or profit contributions


Experience & Mindset

  • Ability to manage relationships with proven success
  • Ability to create and manage partnerships that yield results tied to specific goals of the business – brand awareness, commercial, barter, etc. 
  • Experience creating a strategic framework for partnerships that will serve as the foundation for evaluation and prioritization of both regional and global partnerships
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills 
  • Proven success activating a global network of people and brands
  • Experience with briefing process: responding with multiple ideas that meet objectives
  • Strong collaborative vision, with an eye on business objectives
  • Knowledge of latest trends to support brand strategy
  • Has a discerning eye for the detail and bigger picture to create partnerships with consistent purpose, passion, impact, and sustainability

Business Understanding

  • Understanding of working across a matrix environment with internal and external stakeholders
  • Hospitality industry knowledge and understanding a plus but not necessary
  • Contract and legal process

Degree / Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, marketing or related field
  • 10+ years experience 
  • Partnership background with examples to share
  • International experience working on a global lifestyle brand
  • Both agency and brand-side background strongly desired
  • Languages: English, other languages a plus
