Designer India Mahdavi has created a space offering functional originality from rooms to rooftop. The hotel is a unique flirt with the epoch and a new encounter with Mexico City.

Anyone who thinks that Básico is about plain and bare design should think again. An unusual mix of recycled materials, resins, plumbing pipes, wood, cotton, rubber tires, plastic, glass and even latex combine to create interiors for a hedonistic crowd. Themed around simple concepts with a strong local identity, the Básico challenges pre- conceived notions of what a design hotel should be and evokes images of an essential Mexico – glamorous, style-savvy and young.
