ANDALUSIA

Spain's seductive southernmost region: the birthplace of flamenco and the definition of Spanish lifestyle.

Hotel Hotel will open late 2013. Please check back for updates.

As the capital of Australia, Canberra is the place where some of the country’s largest cultural institutions are found and best exhibitions occur. The city is clustered around Lake Burley Griffin and surrounded by hills of native eucalypt forests and diverse wildlife, hence its nickname – the bush capital. The NewActon precinct is Canberra’s new cultural hub, the main place where business and culture travelers, art lovers, university students and locals all mingle.

One uniquely Australian hotel stands out in this distinctive destination: Hotel Hotel, a holistic concept from the Australia-based Molonglo Group, founded on fertile principles of sustainability, community, diversity and lifestyle. It’s a place for People People. The hotel is located on three levels of the Nishi residential building, a sustainable ‘vertical village’ that contains within it facilities delivering the best of global cinema, independent book and pop-up stores, music and local cafes and bars.

An exquisite grand stair, hand crafted from re-used and salvaged timbers, leads visitors to a hotel foyer more reminiscent of a living room than a lobby. The hotel public spaces are fashioned from humble materials, in unexpected ways that celebrate creative imagination and encourage diverse and intimate social uses day and night. Bespoke furniture commissions, art and collected objects feature in all the Hotel Hotel spaces and rooms. Monumental land art works by Danish artist Alfio Bonanno and New York-based Steven Siegel bind the Nishi architecture to its immediate physical location and greater aspirational landscapes. 68 hotel rooms and 31 hotel apartments offer a rich mix of spaces, clothed in the raw organic beauty of natural materials to suit every guest: from cosy to meandering, no two rooms are exactly alike. The overall result is a place where guests are brought into contact with art, nature and each other.

In the living art and design precinct of NewActon in Canberra, the holistic ‘vertical village’ Hotel Hotel is a groundbreaking concept that embraces the cultural, emotional and intellectual life of the Australian capital.
