The city is also home to an annual 24-hour yacht race, the British Lawnmower Museum, the second-longest amusement pier in the UK, and a Victorian-style Botanical Garden. One of the most famous inhabitants of Southport was Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte, who spent two years in exile here.
