After completing a four-and-a-half-year course at the venerated hospitality school Ecole Hoteličre de Lausanne, Olivia Byrne became director of the Eccleston Square Hotel, the latest venture in a successful family-run hotel business. Spurred on by bad experiences of draughty rooms and lumpy beds at other so-called ‘luxury’ hotels, her primary focus here is certainly guest comfort. “Both the owning family and the highly talented management team have put their heart and soul and the full weight of many years of experience into creating a hotel concept where the client's wellbeing is at the centre of all considerations,” she said. “We’re very excited by the result.”
