Architecture & Interior Design: Anatoliy Kirik & Marina Leo

Anatoliy Kirik and Marina Leo consulted closely with Wladimir Klitschko while working on 11 Mirrors’ architecture and interior design. In creating the look and feel of the hotel, their team of Ukranian and international architects and designers combined contemporary worldwide trends with simple, timeless elegance and sophistication. Less than 6 months old, 11 Mirrors has already won a number of design and hotel industry awards, such as the International Hotel Award for Best Small Hotel 2012.

The narrow 11-story building impresses from the outside with its austere granite façade, combining contemporary design and 19th-century architecture. Visitors pass through glass doors to the lobby, where the natural stone walls, reception desk, floor and fireplace complement a stainless steel ceiling, glass panels and artistic mirrored wall décor by the Fomichov Brothers. The heavy imperial embellishments often associated with Ukraine in the past are nowhere to be found. Instead, contemporary simplicity and elegance prevail throughout the hotel’s interior design: black and white backgrounds, wide panoramic windows, reflective silver mirrors and playing surfaces, and additional ceramic decorations by majolica artist Taras Tkachenko. But it’s not all cold minimalism: an amber-coloured design bar welcomes guests to the elegant, informal mezzanine restaurant, while a fireplace warms cocktail-sipping visitors in the lounge.

49 luxurious rooms and suites reflect and anticipate the needs of 11 Mirrors’ diverse and demanding clientele. The Incognito Superior Rooms offer peace and privacy, with windows overlooking Kiev’s historical center and a bathroom designed as a transparent glass cube with a separate walk-in shower for two people. The Desire Deluxe rooms come with wide floor-to-ceiling windows, a spa-inspired bathroom and a specially designed working area with a modern glass table. The Signature Premium rooms, themed around air and water, provide balance and inspiration for discerning guests. And the spacious Lifestyle Executive Suites offer the finest level of comfort and relaxation with panoramic windows, intimate evening lighting and adjoined sleeping and living spaces. All rooms and suites come with a fully-stocked premium open bar, an LCD television and natural cosmetics.
