ANDALUSIA

Spain's seductive southernmost region: the birthplace of flamenco and the definition of Spanish lifestyle.

With 26 guest rooms and an unbeatable waterfront location near Ortaköy Mosque, The House Hotel Bosphorus is the third property by Turkish entrepreneurs Canan Özdemir and Ferit Baltacioglu. Originally designed by the same dynasty of architects that created some of Istanbul’s finest Ottoman landmarks, this palatial retreat now combines interiors by local design group Autoban with vitalizing views over the Bosphorus, the strait separating Europe from Asia. While other hotels in this part of Istanbul can offer similar views, none are as intimate or stylish as this award-winning city retreat, which was included in both the US and UK edition of Condé Nast Traveler’s 2012 Hot List.

Throwing open the hotel’s metal-framed front door, guests will be welcomed into a new world: one where classical furnishings and daring flashes of modern luxury work in complete harmony. Autoban’s signature materials (think brass, oak and walnut) ignite the lounge and complement its custom-designed fireplace. A fitness area and meeting space can be found in the same part of the building. The top floor is given over to three panoramic penthouse suites with names inspired by legendary architects. From the terrace, which wraps around the hotel’s outer edge, guests can see Europe, Asia and the cobblestone lanes of historic Ortaköy. A personal shopper and expert guides from Locally Istanbul are on hand to help visitors discover local trends in the worlds of art, cuisine and fashion.

Stay at The House Hotel Bosphorus, Autoban’s masterful conversion of a waterside Ottoman mansion in one of Istanbul’s most prominent neighborhoods.

LOCATION OF THE HOUSE HOTEL BOSPHORUS

The House Hotel Bosphorus hotel is located across Ortaköy Mosque in Ortaköy, a neighborhood on the European side of the city best known for its food stalls and night life. Ortaköy’s stone, brick and wood buildings are clustered on several pedestrian lanes just south of the First Bosphorus Bridge. Cobblestone streets lead down to the Ortaköy Mosque, a neo-Baroque mosque built in the 19th century on a platform that juts out into the strait, and the banks of the Bosporus.
