HOT DEALS AND NEW HOTELS
When Daniela and Philippe Frutiger started to design a property in Minusio/Locarno, on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore, they knew they had to do something exceptional to complement the setting. The solution was simple: rip up the rulebook of predictability and create a retreat that is understated yet indulgent. Clever design features, such as the 400-square-meter roof terrace, allow guests to make the most of the region’s Mediterranean climate, which is warmed by 2,300 hours of sunshine a year.
With only 14 rooms and one suite, the guest experience at Giardino Lago is engineered to offer maximum comfort and service – including fly-in transfers with the hotel’s private airline, Fly Giardino. Originality is also pulled off with élan in the kitchen, where signature dishes like Canadian bison and Angus beef are cooked in an infrared oven that heats up to 800°C. Whether visitors are enjoying private access to the lake, breathing in pure air on the sun terrace, or appreciating the views from the sensuously curved exterior staircase, they’ll find that the built elements of the hotel frame and celebrate the natural surroundings. Whenever they feel the urge, guests can take a private yacht to the impressive bays of Lake Maggiore, where unparalleled views await.
Stay at Giardino Lago, an imaginative and relaxed oasis that’s designed to make the most of the views from its inimitable setting on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore.
