Valencia is home to many iconic buildings, among them the Gothic Lonja de la Seda or Silk Exchange, the modernist Central Market, the art deco Main Station, and the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences which looks like something out of a sixties Sci-Fi movie. A favourite with visitors is the Fallas festival, which happens each March 19th when locals parade large puppets (‘fallas’) through the city and burn them at the end of the festivities.
