MEET THE ORIGINAL: ANTONIO CITTERIO
Antonio Citterio is an award-winning architect and a recognized name in the industrial design sector. After creating a series of buildings in Europe and Japan in association with Terry Dwan, he teamed up with Patricia Viel to found the firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners. Together they are currently developing a number of complex long-term projects on an international level including urban plans and residential complexes. The Eden is Citterio’s first mountain hotel, and he has a special relationship to it: he spent many summers in the Italian Alps as a child. In designing the Eden, he sought to provide a cosy, homey feel for guests while avoiding kitsch. Asked about his creation, he said: “An architect is like a tailor. They design outfits for clients. Some they would wear themselves; others they would not. This, I would wear.”
