Surprise, seduction and vigor are the basis of the “25hours” hotel's concept. Even your own arrival catches you pleasantly off-guard: 420 convex chrome mirrors stud the black, curved reception desk, reflecting your entrance manifold.

It’s one of the many playful elements on a designer-set that pays homage to the 1960s and 70s with flowing surface shapes, hand-tufted pile rugs from Kasthall, mod Brionvega television sets, and spun-metal table lamps from Flos, who produced the prototype and first batch for the hotel. A design hotel that literally spreads design in so far as furnishings and home accessories can be ordered directly through “25hours”. The core idea of interior design firm 3Meta was to create convertible spaces for public or private functions. Informal communal rooms have been designed with the idea of encouraging the hotel’s young clientele to communicate with one another. Circular insets in the ceiling alter the mood using bright, clear light by day, and – as soon as the sushi master, DJ and bartenders move in behind the U-shaped breakfast bar – the lighting unfolds in hues of pinks and reds, creating a club-like feel. The third floor ‘Living Room’ is reserved for guests only and invites you to stretch out on low lounge seats by Alfa in front of a giant flat screen.

Public areas are dipped in warm pinks, reds and oranges, whereas guestrooms are cool retreats resplendent in pale blues or watery greens. Equally groovy, they’re fitted out with a white fringe curtain, a retro chair, and a desk that can be either be turned into a seat or a suitcase rack. Unsparingly stylish, “25hours” is affordable fun where guests make themselves at home.
