ANDALUSIA

Spain's seductive southernmost region: the birthplace of flamenco and the definition of Spanish lifestyle.

Occupying a 1930s building that originally was Berlin's Royal Danish Embassy, Das Stue's unique heritage is reflected in its name, the Danish term for "living room". The hotel incorporates the prominence of its classicist facade and the natural beauty of its leafy Tiergarten address, formerly the city's royal hunting grounds. Not far from the Neue Nationalgalerie, the Berlin Philharmonie, Potsdamer Platz, and the grand shopping boulevard Kurfürstendamm, Das Stue is centrally located in an idyllic setting exalting history, romantic wilderness, and cosmopolitan culture.

The owners have created a sophisticated urban retreat with personalized comforts – much like the living room of someone who is well connected in Berlin and has immediate access to the city's countless attractions. While Axthelm Architekten revitalized the historic building and constructed the modern extension of Das Stue, the interior design and the artistic direction of the public spaces were realized by Patricia Urquiola, the acclaimed Spanish architect and designer famous for her sleek, comfortable, and elegant design. Based on Urquiola's concept, LVG Arquitectura S.L.P. designed the hotel’s 80 rooms and suites, many with captivating views of the Berlin Zoo's neighboring grounds and exotic wildlife.

Michelin-starred Catalan chef Paco Pérez, mastermind behind "5 - Culinary Art by Paco Pérez", the food concept of Das Stue, serves avant-garde Mediterranean cuisine combined with local accents in the fine dining and casual restaurants, and will surely impact Berlin's epicurean legacy. In addition, the bar is the brainchild of one of Berlin's most creative nightlife impresarios.

Nestled among the leafy awnings of Tiergarten, between the Spanish Embassy’s diplomats and the Berlin Zoo’s exotic inhabitants, Das Stue offers all the comforts of a quiet urban refuge within the heart of Germany’s thriving capital city.
