In the urban jungle of Berlin, the City West area stands out. Every day, thousands of residents and visitors walk along the lively shopping street Kurfürstendamm past the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial, a hollowed-out church bombed during World War II – remembering Berlin’s history amid its vibrant present. It all comes together in the Bikini Berlin complex, an exciting redevelopment project centered on five historical buildings between Kurfürstendamm and Berlin’s Zoo. 25hours Hotel Bikini, the first Berlin property from celebrated hotel group 25hours, is an integral part of City West’s new legacy, putting urban explorers right in the middle of this developing intersection of nature and culture.

Located in a 10-story high-rise, the hotel sits among a collection of 1950s-era historic buildings including the Zoopalast cinema and the so-called Bikinihaus, a unique post-war architectural icon by Paul Schwebes and Hans Schoszberger. Once completed, the project will be an urban oasis where visitors and Berliners can live, work, shop and play.

One of the cornerstones of the project is 25hours Hotel Bikini’s rooftop bar and restaurant, with its wide-open design and 360-degree view. On one side, the wide green expanses of Tiergarten Park and the animals in the Berlin Zoo; on the other, the bustling Breitscheidplatz and majestic Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. This duality carries over to the interior of the hotel as well, with a playful “urban jungle” concept orchestrated by forward-thinking local designer Werner Aisslinger. Of the 149 rooms, half face the zoo and follow a “jungle” design scheme, with warm colors, natural materials and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer direct views of the monkey enclosure. In contrast, rooms facing the city center have a rougher, edgier feel.

25hours Hotel Bikini is located in Berlin’s City West, right across from Breitscheidplatz, between the shopping and high-end retail street Kurfürstendamm (Ku’damm), Kaiser-Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche (Memorial Church) and Berlin’s Zoo. Bikini Berlin, formerly known as Zoobogen, is a listed building-ensemble constructed between1955-1957. It is a prominent architectural example of post-war modernism in the western part of Berlin. Under its new identity Bikini Berlin, this historical building complex is to become a high-grade city destination consisting of offices, retail spaces, and a 25hours hotel with a total developed area of 97,000 sqm.
