Situated amidst eight acres of gardens overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in the coastal city of Paphos, Almyra's enviable location is only the beginning of its story. Under the direction of Thanos Michaelides, the hotel has been family-run and -operated since 1974, relaunching as Almyra in 2003 with diverse contemporary touches. The focus here is on what Michaelides refers to as "modern hospitality," with equal consideration paid to the needs of those traveling with young families and those without.

The result is a unique space where simplicity reigns: as inclusive as it is exclusive. With pure, crisp design courtesy of Parisian designer Joelle Pleot, the 189-room hotel is a first on the island; its uncomplicated ease merges seamlessly with the historic surroundings of Paphos. Views of Paphos Castle from Helios Lounge Bar compete with the beachfront Ouzeri, one of four restaurants, where diners are served traditional Greek fare accompanied by sunsets and the sound of crashing waves. The expansive grounds offer families, couples and singles an assortment of diverse leisure facilities. For solace and well-being, the Almyra Spa is home to an extensive menu of organic treatments. Alternatively, two heated freshwater pools and a tennis court cater to more active visitors. Starting March 2013, a kid's club offers indoor and outdoor activities in the Explorers program, managed by leading professional UK childcare specialists. Almyra allows all guests the opportunity to create their own, truly personal experience in surroundings that are smooth, fresh, and thoroughly modern.

The Almyra is located in eight acres of landscaped gardens on the Paphos beachfront. The hotel is within walking distance to the town, the harbour and close to the Paphos Mosaics (Unesco World Heritage Site).
