Life medicine RESORT offers high-end medicine in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where the individual needs of guests are well looked after. The architecture and interior design accentuate this, creating intimacy and well-being coupled with sweeping panoramic views. In the morning birdsong fills the air, carrying the guest further away from the stress of every day life.

The prize winning architects Jensen & Skodvin developed a concept for Life medicine RESORT which both preserves and enhances the sensitive topography of Bad Gleichenberg. To the street the building gives off a compact impression, whilst the organic forms of the building’s park side softly echo the landscape. Within the valley of Bad Gleichenberg Jensen & Skodvin have created a spacious and modern hotel in larch wood, stone and glass. Large windows blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, thus integrating nature in the building and also becoming a part of it. The medical institute’s spacious green areas in the inner parts of the hotel create an airy atmosphere enhancing the beneficial effect of the therapies on offer.

The luxuriously decorated suites and rooms exude a discreet, modern elegance. The rooms, all either with balcony or terrace, are kept in a neutral warm colour palette to harmonise with the green landscape surrounding the resort.

Life medicine RESORT is picturesquely situated within a 61-acre (20 hectare) large park in English landscape design. The park originates back to 1836 and is home to a great collection of botanical varieties including a Magnolia and a Japanese Katsura tree. During hot summer days the canopies of the 170-year-old Plane trees provide comfortable shade for an outdoor nap. In all, the splendours offered by nature are seamlessly interwoven with the modern buildings, giving the impression the hotel has always been there.

For more than 170 years the mineralised sources in Bad Gleichenberg have contributed to alleviating rheumatism and other ailments. This tradition is continued in the resort’s beautiful in- and outdoor spa- and swimming facilities, which are fed with spring water and cover an area of 3000 m2. Three different types of saunas are available in a secluded area as well as an ice cave, rooms for infrared light therapy, heated benches and a relaxation room with fireplace. A private sauna is also at guest’s disposal.

In the restaurant exquisite cuisine combined with stunning views to the park and the little town, leave the discerning guest in want of nothing. The evening comes to a perfect finale at the comfortable and modern bar featuring an open fireplace.
