FOOD & DRINK

Cuisine is a key element of the hotel experience.
In Bangkok, Executive Chef Daniel Moran heads up ‘Cy’an,’ the headline restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. ‘Cy’an’ has private dining facilities as well as tables on the open-air veranda flanking the hotel’s outdoor pool.

At ‘Cy’an,’ Moran’s respect for fresh produce and well-sourced ingredients is brought to bear in menus that draw inspiration from culinary traditions belonging to the Mediterranean, including Moorish influences. There is a strong seafood emphasis, combined with subtle spicing.

‘Glow’ is the 48-seat alternative serving fresh food only – rendered as light meals, energising juices and blends rich in living enzymes, vitamins and minerals. This healthful slant is in line with the COMO Shambhala menus first developed at Parrot Cay.

There is also a Met Bar – a chic members bar, open to members, their guests and hotel guests. Like its London progenitor (the famous Met Bar on Park Lane), it is a dynamic, private place to party. Interiors feature deep club chairs and wine-dark walls. Lighting is soft and moody. London-trained bar staff, called 'mixologists' at the Met, create specialist Martinis, such as the ‘Tom Yumtini.’ Both Thai and international DJs play eclectic lounge sounds from around the world.

RECREATION

Metropolitan Bangkok has a substantial 1200sq metre COMO Shambhala Urban Escape designed for guests seeking greater health through yoga and related treatments.
There is a yoga studio, fully equipped gym, hydro pool and a 20-metre outdoor pool.

Guests can also take advantage of COMO Shambhala’s Asian-based therapies (there are 10 treatment areas). These range from specific body treatments to facials and massages delivered by experienced practitioners who customise treatments according to individual needs.
