Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, an important 17th century writer/scholar, wrote chorals for the local cathedral. The city also has an Oktoberfest thanks to its sizable local German population, and a number of Bavarian-style houses. Pueblo also has many examples of the Spanish Colonial architecture, among them the neoclassical Cathedral. The nearby pyramid of Cholula was part of a large Aztec city.
