The Kruger National Park, located near the South African city of Nelspruit, is a gigantic game reserve that is said to be home to 147 species of mammals, 517 species of birds, 120 species of reptiles and 1.982 species of plants.

The area had reserves in various forms since the late 19th century; the park was named after President Paul Kruger in 1926.
