On the water's edge at Nacka Strand, Hotel J in Stockholm has mile wide views over the royal Djurgården, Lidingö and the boats on Saltsjön. Inspired by J boats of America's Cup history, the original 1912 brick building has been decorated in a contemporary marine style recalling the boathouses of New England. Architects, Millimeter and designers, R.O.O.M. have used white-painted wooden boards, strong cotton cloths in pure colors and oak furniture to create the look. The lobby is the centerpiece of Hotel J where, by the fireside, guests can enjoy the same fine views as from their bedrooms. The hotel's "Restaurant J", lying on the pier, specialises in modern, international seafood. Sailing, fishing and golf are all accessible in the area.
